Jail, deportation for stealing information from database

A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced an expatriate to five years in jail and ordered his subsequent deportation for stealing information from the database of a major construction company.
The court also fined the man a sum of QR200,000, according to local Arabic daily Arrayah.
The man was convicted of premeditated infringement in obtaining a copy of confidential information.
Besides, the court confirmed that the defendant knowingly abused the terms and conditions of using the database, the daily said.
Besides, he kept a copy of the protected information without prior authorisation from the official concerned.
