About Last night….

More iftar adventures, the QL team was treated to an iftar at La Casa 28, in Medina Centrale, a precinct in The Pearl Qatar.

Upon entering the restaurant one is met with a shabby chic interior, very spacious and very pleasing to the eye.   There are charming details everywhere.  It's noted that one should sit back and pay attention, although the food is great here, the ambience is warm and refreshing.

Several QL members were meeting to try out the much spoken about restaurant.

After the usual pleasantries, we headed to the Italian buffet. The Manager Mr Diaa, came by to say hello and wish us an enjoyable iftar.

The variety was really good, those who tried the lasagna were relentless in convincing the others to try it, which we so readily did and confirmed their choice.  There lasagna is famous throughout Qatar and the one offered in the Iftar is the exact same as their A La Carte.  Some of the choices on offer were a delicious turkey with gravy, salmon (cooked very well), risotto, and beautiful rice with chicken and potatoe dish.

Another thing to note, is that food is light here.  It's not greasy and heavy and you don't feel a bit queasy after fasting and enjoying your iftar here.   It's good quality food on offer - that's for sure.

As we continued to enjoy our own selections, we chat away from subject to subject, with much giggles and laughter.

We enjoyed the Arabic coffee which was a full decanter which was generously placed on our table.  For unsweetened caffeinated beverage it was shockingly delicious.

Time for dessert. The selection was great, the portions just enough to satisfy one’s sweet tooth.  They had Arabic and Western delights.  We enjoyed them, particulary a cake called Balthazar (not a name you could forget) and the tiramisu was delicious.

The manager gave us little garango gift bags with free vouchers for children's haircuts and play areas!  Before you know it,  it's time to say goodbye, each going our own way home with a full tummy...thanks to the sumptuous buffet at La Casa 28.

Happy garanga'o!!!
