Huge amount of drugs seized from different areas in Qatar
In three separate cases, customs officials seized 6.5kg marijuana, 583 Captagon tablets and 4kg cannabis from various ports of entry into the country, reported The Peninsula.
The first seizure was reported at the Hamad International Airport (HIA) when a customs employee felt suspicious about a carton belonging to an Asian passenger. After a detailed inspection, marijuana wrapped with paper and black sticker was found.
The second incident was reported from Abu Samra border. On inspection, they found out one of the vehicle was carrying a plastic bag with 583 Captagonhidden tablets secretly hidden inside it.
The third seizure was at the cargo, when a customs employee after suspicon opened a package and found four headphones filled with 4kg of cannabis.
The General Authority of Customs honoured the three customs employees from different outlets for their work.
Ahmed bin Ali Al Mohannadi, Chairman of the General Authority of Customs, said that the authority has achieved big success by seizing the banned products.
