60 worksites shut down for midday work ban violation
Around 60 worksites in Qatar were shut down in July for violating the summer midday work ban for labourers, Department of Labour Inspection revealed.
The ban regulation stipulates that from June to August, work hours should be no longer than five hours in the morning until 11:30 am, while evening shifts must not start before 3:00 pm.
According to Department of Labour Inspection Director Mohammed Al Mir, the department carries out periodical inspections at work sites to ensure compliance with the ministerial decision, Qatar Tribune reported.
In May, The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) announced that from 15 June, companies that employ people who work outdoors will need to adjust their working hours or face sanctions from the government.
Any company that does not comply with the summer midday work ban regulation will face closure of their worksites, according to Qatar Tribune.

A right decision ..............
this should be not limited to work sites... they have to consider those workers/cleaners in the parking lots, industrial area like garage and etc that are working without AC.
We are proud of the authorities ..
