Supermarket and cafeteria shut down over violations
The crackdown on errant commercial outlets continued in the run-up to Eid Al Adha with the municipal authorities announcing the closure of a supermarket in Simaisma and a cafeteria in Doha Industrial Area.
This comes close on the heels of the Al Khor and Al Thakira Municipality permanently shutting down a supermarket in Al Khor for operating without a licence last week.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said that the director of Al Khor and Al Thakira Municipality, Juma Khamis Al Muraikhi, issued an administrative decision to permanently close down a supermarket in the Simaisma farm complex area for operating without a proper licence.
The MME tweeted that the civic authorities had shut down a cafeteria in Doha Industrial Area after it was found using expired foodstuff. Legal procedures have been initiated in the case.
Inspectors from the Health Control Section (Industrial Area) found that the cafeteria sold expired foodstuff by manipulating the expiry information.
The inspectors found that the cafeteria operators pasted stickers with false expiry dates on products that were already past their original expiry date. A violation was accordingly issued.

Good Work
Yes, It must be human error to miss reading the clearly printed expiry date on foodstuff... I'm sure they would have no difficulty reading receipts or counting cash
T err is human ............ a little carelessness on one person can give bad results and huge loss for the sponsors .... .........
