Urgent Appeal to help animals at QAWS

A lot of people waited for the rains, and enjoyed just as much. The last few days of downpour have caused chaos for a lot of people, especially those who spend a lot of time on the streets of Qatar.

However, our little furry friends have experienced nothing but possibly the most disastrous outcome of these rains. Hundreds of animals have been displaced from their shelters and stranded in freezing cold water.

Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS), who shelters hundreds of animals of their premises, struggled through the rains, rescuing these animals and finding foster homes for them, while they were over three feet underwater and lost most of their belongings including food, and the entire shelter.

QAWS now needs to rebuild the entire shelter, search for all the lost animals, rescue them and then place them into foster care till they get back on their feet. Currently slightly over a 100 dogs are in foster, and a large number of animals still need temporary homes.

Here are a few ways you can help QAWS:

1. 1. Donate any items you have like blankets, toys, etc.
2. 2. You can buy cat/dog food and hand it over
3. 3. There are workers who are tirelessly working to get the shelter up and running again, as well as rescuing animals. You can donate in the form of mens clothes, toiletries, and absolutely anything else you can spare for them.

5. 5. You can make a difference by offering your help to QAWS in rebuilding their shelters.
6. 6. Cats and dogs still need foster homes, so if you have a spare bathroom, or absolutely you anywhere you can accommodate them temporarily, please take at least one animal.
