Notarisation question - from UK

Hopefully somebody can help....

I am moving to Qatar in August and am in the process of getting my documents together to send to the FCO for notarisation.

My family will be joining me and the issue I currently have is that my son has a Chinese birth certificate. I am not sure how to proceed? He has a British and American passport but was born in China whilst we teaching over there. We have a translation of this document but the FCO have said that they do not accept documents from foreign countries.

Any advice on where to take his birth certificate for notarisation would be most welcome!

We are actually living in the UK now so communication with China is difficult.

Your son's birth certificate needs to be attested from Qatar Embassy in China and after attesting from local authorities (like ministry of foreign affairs in china). Better to call and check with Qatar Embassy in China what attestations they need to attest the birth certificate or find a local agent in China who can complete these attestations for you.
