What to expect at the 2017 Qatar Motor Show
Motoring and automobile enthusiats in the region have been eagerly waiting for the biggest ever Qatar Motor Show this year. The event is organized by Qatar Tourism Authority, in collaboration with Fira Qatar.
The motor show will kick-off on April 18 and continue through until April 22 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. Here's what you should expect to see at the 2017 edition:
Hybrid and enviromentally friendly cars
Under the theme "Driving to Innovation", you should expect a more futuristic show than a greasy one. The show will take visitors on a thrill-filled ride to discover the latest hybrid and tech-advanced vehicles that are paving the way to the future of the automotive industry.
As the world is moving towards more environmentally friendly motorized solutions, the show will without a doubt include the latest hybrid cars, connected cars and other tech-advanced vehicles that will be shaping the way we transport in the future.
Regional and national car reveals
More than 21 brands will be exhibiting at the motor show this year, some of which are revealing never seen before cars that will hit the market soon.
Organizers have revealed that the Super Car, a brand new Lotus Evora 410, will be displayed in the region for the first time since its European reveal last month.
The popular brands which are expected to draw crowds include BAIC, BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Genesis, Harley Davidson, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati, Maxus, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ram, Titanium and Toyota.
Interactive fan zones
Interactive fan zones will be packed with performances and activities including the inaugural XRebels extreme sports performance by Xtork at the 'Xtreme Sports Park', which will be open to the public at DECC.
Skateboarding, BMX Best Runs and Longboard Sprint Race competitions will be running from April 19th until the end of the event. Visitors can register online in advance for these activities to eliminate waiting time.
Additionally, the park will host fun games such as parkour, MTB and Aggressive Inline Skate.
Car parade
Starting from the 19th of April, Doha will experience a parade of unique and exciting cars in West Bay at the DECC at 5pm daily organized by Mawater.
Social media contests
Social media competitions will be running throughout the show, giving visitors the chance to win memorable prizes including gadgets, branded merchandising and weekend test drives.
