A Nordic-themed beach club is set to open in Katara
This summer, Katara Cultural Village is opening a Scandinavian-inspired beach club and spa, in the tradition of Nordic health and wellness rituals.
The beach club will include a sun deck and gym, a 25m outdoor infinity pool, as well as a private beach with cabanas. It can be found at the northern end of Katara (a fitting direction, for a Nordic-style spa).
Stockholm-based Raison d’Etre will be running the show under the LivNordic brand. The company already operates 120 spas in 60 different countries.
According to StudioHBA, Dubai, that worked in conjuction with Raison d’Etre to create the spa, connectivity to nature, a healthy lifestyle, beauty, and sound mindfulness are characteristics of the Nordic people. These are qualities that have helped conceptualise the spa and its amenities. The aim is not only to promote a few hours of relaxation or exercise, but also to encourage a healthier lifestyle in general.
The Raison d’Etre team painstakingly chose materials to reflect Nordic countries’ culture and mindset, with natural timbers, copper, black slate and green walls to emphasise their love of nature and simplicity.
The Katara Beach Club by LivNordic Spa & Wellness will be an interesting way to experience the health practices of a certain cultural context and school of thought. Let’s see how it turn out!
