#Weareqatar : When love poured into Doha from all around the world
It has been a few days since a few Arab countries banded together to isolate Qatar and destabilise peace in the region. But Qatar has stood firm in saying that allegations against it were baseless and fabricated.
In the last few days, the country has seen an outpouring of support from all around the world. We created the hashtag #Weareqatar and it has been trending on social media.
Londoner Elizabeth Clair Scott, who called Qatar her second home, said things would soon be all right.
“Love and peace to my Qatari friends from London. Those of us who are not blinded by propaganda in the West nor the East know that all is well in my second home and that you will ride out this storm. Stay strong,” she wrote on a Facebook post Qatar Living had made.
Filipino national Almer Ayoob Aldamia was also very supportive of the nation.
“We the Filipinos offer our full support to Qatar during this difficult time. This country is my 2nd home,” he wrote on Facebook.
Haman Awyan, who used to work in Qatar, said he wouldn’t hesitate a heartbeat to be back in the country he loves so much.
“Qatar is the land of peace and love. I lived the best days of my life in Qatar when I was working there. And if I’ve any chance to return there, I wouldn't hesitate,” he wrote on Facebook.
Others, like Shanika Fernando, who had left Qatar to go on her annual vacation when the crisis broke, sounded determined to be back tomorrow.
“I love Qatar very much — it’s my home away from home. Currently I’m on vacation. But come hell or fire, I'm coming back on Friday,” she noted on Facebook.
There has also been an outpouring of support from Turkey, with the hashtag #Turkeywithqatar trending on Twitter and other social media channels.
Oğuzhan Akar, did not have any hesitation in declaring his support for Qatar on Facebook.
“Turks with Qatar all the way,” he wrote simply, leaving no room for doubts.
Algerian Islem Salim was much more eloquent while declaring his support for Qatar.
“I'm from Algeria. I want to tell you I'm with you, my blood is with you, my life is with you and I love Qatar forever,” he said.
Tunisian Moufida Khodja also clear about where here priorities lay.
“Magnifique pays (Beautiful country) Qatar. I love and support Qatar, all the way from Tunisia,” she wrote.
Facebook user Ram Gautam’s poetic post sounded like the perfect tomorrow all of us should look forward to.
“The darkness of misunderstandings will be faded. And the sunshine of the truth will prevail. Always love Qatar... Long live Qatar,” he wrote down.
