Marmara Istanbul closed a third time due to health violations
“This establishment is closed due to violating municipal laws and regulations,” read the Health Control stickers on the doors and windows of Marmara Istanbul.
The Ministry of Municipality and the Environment (MME) has shut down the (dis)reputable and very popular establishment of Marmara Istanbul for 10 days in the middle of this month.
This is the third time the takeaway restaurant has been closed in the past three years due to the violation of health regulations.
The Turkish takeaway’s Fereej Kulaib branch by TV roundabout was closed down for trading in “harmful food contaminated with radioactive (microbes) (parasites) (pesticides)…” according to a statement on the ministry’s website.
Marmara Istanbul was closed for two months following numerous customer complaints of food poisoning in October 2014, one of which included the grievance of a pregnant woman who gave birth prematurely.
Photographs of unsanitary kitchen equipment were published at the time, though the restaurant made a quick enough comeback after the upheaval. If the ratings and reviews on TripAdvisor are anything to go by, people still enjoy the food on offer for its taste and reasonable pricing. Whether or not Marmara Istanbul will recover from its third closure remains to be seen.

Marmara istanbul on Fereej bin Nasser is the best branch of their's and I've always enjoyed the food there; this branch in bin omran has always struggled with these violations, don't know why the difference in standards...but yes, ever since I tried "Lebanese Shawarma" on Matar Qadeem St., I've just not gone to any of my old favourites; I've grown up here and tried almost every shawarma place but this one I mentioned is just another level of awesomeness for me at least...their beef shawarma is one of the best in Qatar and I can't stop stuffing my face with rocket after rocket haha...
Excellent . Few years back , i almost saw death, after eating from there .Can never ever forget those days admitted, lying lifeless at the hospital . They were supposed to be closed down forever . But ' No comments " on that .
better to shut down permanantly
