A bus driver, who assaulted another motorist in a fit of rage, fined QR5,000
Driving anywhere in the world is not an easy job as unruly drivers can severely test one’s patience.
However irritating drivers may be on the road, it is always better to keep a level head in order to avoid run-ins with the law. Or ask this bus driver who was recently fined QR5,000 by Qatar’s Court of First Instance.
The bus driver, who assaulted another motorist in a fit of road rage, was referred to a criminal trial by the Public Prosecution, reported The Peninsula.
He was booked for assault and deliberately causing bodily harm to the victim, a car driver, who suffered severe physical damage.
According to the case file, the motorist was driving on a crowded street, and was leaving a roundabout, when the bus driver on the left side tried to turn and overtake his car. The car driver, in his attempt to avoid the bus, entered the muddy road.
The bus driver, who was driving many passengers, hurled insults at the car driver. When the car driver stopped and approached the bus driver to talk to him, he was assaulted by the latter and the passengers.
The car driver, who had the presence of mind to note down the bus number, filed a police complaint and the guilty party was apprehended. The bus driver admitted to the incident.
Most probably the bus driver was not totally wrong
