In first contact since GCC crisis began, Qatari Emir sends cable of condolence to UAE President
For the first time since the illegal siege of Qatar began on June 5, HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has reached out to the UAE president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, albeit it being at a sad time.
HH The Emir sent a cable of condolences to the UAE President on the death of his mother, reported Al Jazeera, quoting the Qatar News Agency.
In the message, HH The Emir said he was praying to Allah the almighty to have mercy on her soul and make her residence in Paradise, reported Gulf Times.
The cable of condolences was the first direct cable to be publicly announced between Qatar and the UAE since the beginning of the crisis, in which Kuwait assumed the mediator role.
In September 2017, Qatar’s Emir and the Saudi crown prince reportedly had a phone call in which the two expressed a willingness to discuss an end to the rift.
As reported by state media from both countries, this was the first official contact between Doha and Riyadh since the crisis began.
Mashah-Allah, our Emir is very positive and remain motivated, hence always gave a respect to regional elder's, despite of illegal siege of Qatar.
Stay blessed and keep working for the people of Qatar and for GCC region.
