Mowasalat increases minimum taxi fare by 10%, official announcement to come soon

The recent hikes in fuel prices is having a knock-on effect on other sectors, with public transportation company Mowasalat and its franchises increasing its minimum fare.

Mowasalat has said that it was increasing its basic charge by 10%, from QR10 to QR11, reported Qatar Tribune.

The fare hike, which came into effect from Wednesday mid-night, comes in the backdrop of fuel price hike as well as increase in other expenses like maintenance and spare parts.

Qatar Tribune revealed sources in the company as saying that the fare hike would be announced by the Ministry of Transport and Communications soon.

is there any upgrade in attitude of taxi drivers? Long time didn't travel in taxi. I prefer Uber, is the best service.
