Spouses of 10 long-serving expats to visit Qatar on an all-expense paid trip
If you take a look around you, you can see hundreds of people who have not returned to their home countries for several years due to different reasons. Such people may not have even seen their children face to face.
Radio 98.6FM, a radio station in Qatar that caters to the people of South Indian state of Kerala, has taken it upon themselves to bring spouses of 10 people who have not gone home in more than 15 years, reported The Peninsula.
The 10 spouses will be coming to Doha tomorrow on a five-day, all-expense paid trip, under the ‘Me and my partner, for love’ campaign. They will first receive a warm welcome at the Hamad International Airport.
Radio host Jibin May will accompany the spouses from the Cochin International Airport.
Thanks to several sponsoring companies, the spouses will be able to stay together in Qatar between May 9 and 12.
The spouses of 10 Indian expatriates — Saidalavi (Wayanad), Mohammedkutty (Bepoor), Haiderali (Thrithala), Shija Jose (Guruvayoor), Sharafudeen (Varkala), Muhammed (Kuttikattur), Alikutty (Chettuva), Savior (Paravoor), Akbhar (Kuthuparamba), Basheer (Mananthavadi) — have been chosen to come to Qatar.
We wish the endeavour the best of luck.
