International Driving Permit
I have International Driving License which I used in qatar during my last stay on visit visa. Now i am on work visa but not yet applied for QID. It is a 3-month initial/temp visa.
I have car from a rent-a-car company.
- Some people tell me I cannot drive at all on intl license when arrived on qatar for work even when i don't have qid.
- Some people keep telling that i can use intl licence until i get the qid.
- My car company told me i can drive on intl licence until i apply for qid. I will be applying for medical test soon.
Please refer me to to authentic information. What is the qatari law about intl license for someone on work(temp/initial) visa?

Best answer to this would be given to you at the Traffic Department. Things change very often here in Qatar. What was obtainable this morning might not be in the afternoon.
Suggest, you talk to the captain at the Traffic Police station Madinat Khalifa South for best guidance on your issue. You may fall into serious trouble should you be something illegal.
