HH The Amir chairs a meeting to evaluate preparations for 2022 FIFA World Cup
Qatar took the world by storm in 2010 when it beat much bigger opponents to win hosting rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ever since then, the country has been steadily gearing up towards the mega event by constructing new stadiums and other related infrastructure.

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani recently chaired the third meeting of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy to evaluate progress of the work on the tournament, reported Gulf Times.
The meeting, which was held at the Amiri Diwan yesterday, was attended by Deputy Amir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and Personal Representative of HH the Amir HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
It was also attended by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and other members of the Board, reported The Peninsula.

During the meeting, the officials brought HH The Amir up to speed with the progress of projects for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. While a presentation was made on the overall progress of the projects, the championship’s security and comprehensive transport plans at the state level were also reviewed, according to Qatar Tribune.
