InterContinental Doha The City has launched Pink October activities to raise breast cancer awareness

InterContinental Doha The City has launched its Pink October activities with the aim of raising awareness about Breast Cancer, the importance of early detection, and the different initiatives and programmes available in Qatar dedicated to this cause.

This initiative is held in partnership with The National Breast and Bowel Cancer Screening Programme “Screen For Life” led by The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).

The Screen For Life outreach programme team held a presentation about the importance of early detection through screening, delivering an overview of the screening services that the programme is providing to the community in addition to its latest achievement.

A sweet pink afternoon tea was held at InterContinental Doha The City to kick off the activities. Media, bloggers, and influencers gathered around to taste the savoury items and sweet treats presented as a preview of the treats that will be served during the month of October at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge and The Square.

“This is the third year of our Pink October initiative and we continue to support the fight against Breast Cancer with our annual awareness campaign,” said Gilles Longuet, General Manager.

“We aim to raise awareness among our guests and colleagues about the importance of early detection and screening through our Pink themed activities and our collaboration with Screen For Life. Aside from the activities for guests and the community, we will be holding a private presentation for all hotel team members in order to raise awareness internally as well.”

During the event, guests were also given the opportunity to tour the inside of the mobile screening unit that provides the mammogram service. They also received giveaways sponsored by Woojooh.

Complimentary screening for eligible women will be held at the hotel’s Event Centre entrance on the 8th and 30th of October for both its residents as well as the surrounding community. A representative from the Breast and Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, Screen For Life will also be present at the Lobby Lounge on the 8th to help answer any questions guests may have about the Programme and the screening services it provides.

Together with Screen For Life, InterContinental Doha The City aims to educate guests and the local community on the importance of early detection through screening.

On 8th of October
Consultation with a nurse will be from 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Screening will be from 11:30 pm - 4:30 pm

On 30th of October
Screening will be from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Square - Indulge in an exclusive pink themed Arabic lunch on the 20th of October.
