Got a job offer

Hi All
I have got a job offer from a company in qatar name of the comapany is Dopet Doha Petrolium Ltd.
I haven't been interviewed for this job. HR of this company asked for my resume on Linkedin and i sent him after few days he sent out a job application then set of questions which as commly asked by HR then today i have received a LETTER OF APPOINTMENT.
i am struggling to understand wether this is fake or original now they have mentioned a contact to help me with visa processing information asked me to pay for visa fee and then they will send the flight tickets for me.
any suggestions or directions on what my next steps should be.

they asked you to pay for the visa and there was no formal interview; i suspect you already know the answer to your question; they're scammers, there's no job and you will not send them any money; and most importantly, if i were you; i'd do my best to report this to the real DOPET and anyone else you can find in Qatar or on linkedin or whatever. Good you decided to get opinions here; i can easily imagine a more desperate or naive person falling for the trap and being fleeced of his money; may such scammers who prey on unsuspecting people burn in hell ameen...

But it makes me wonder why they are asking you to pay them advance money for a visa. That sounds a bit fishy. Suggest you contact them through email and find out more about this matter. I would not give a single riyal.
