Inside Scoop: New Cuban Lounge revealed at Intercontinental Doha The City
In the heart of West Bay, located high up on the 55th & 56th floors, InterContinental Doha The City will be launching a brand new Cuban lounge ‘La Vista 55’ this coming November. A fusion of the vibrant atmosphere and intricate flavours of vintage Havana, La Vista 55 brings a little piece of Cuba to our tables and debuts an authentic menu curated by Cuban Chef Klaesvirs Leyva Riva.
The Qatar Living team was able to get the inside scoop and action behind the scenes on this new spot. We were greeted with a live band directly from the island nation as we walked in, and were further fascinated by the interiors which were wonderfully inspired by the soulful and vivid streets and alleys of Cuba. The hospitality and atmosphere were undeniably welcoming with art work on the walls to liven things up, an impeccable service by the staff, rhythmic live performance and panoramic views of the whole city.
The alluring menu ranges from dainty small plates of plant based ingredients to gutsy meats and seafood dishes. Snack on a variety of speciality tapas and mouth-watering Papas Rellenas and empanadas de Ropa Viejo. We also highly recommend the Ceviche Cubano, a classic raw dish which is both punchy and unforgettable. The house beverage blends were also quite impressive and offered a variety of vibrant options that positively played with our palate. To finish, banish any dietary plans by indulging in a our recent revelation, the ‘Pastel Tres Leches' - a famous three milks cake, loved by cubans, latin americans and now, us. We were captivated by this new spectacle and are certain that Qatar will love this newcomer.
