Help: VISA EXTENSION RESPONSIBILITY

3 weeks before the expiration of my family visit visa I got accepted to a job. They issued me a temporary working visa.

After almost 2 months. My company is asking why didnt I extend/renew my visit visa. Now I have a penalty.

Who should be responsible about it?
