This is the biggest of its kind exhibition in the region, and is said to be the second largest exhibition of inventions internationally after the Geneva International Exhibition, reported Gulf Times.
The event provides a competitive platform to inventors in the region and around the world to display their inventions and gain expert feedback including advise on marketing the inventions.
Professor Fatima Al Muhannadi, Managing Director of the Qatar Scientific Club, led Qatar’s delegation to the Exhibition.
Al Muhannadi said she is highly optimistic about the Qatari inventions and takes pride in the great scientific level achieved by the Qatari youth.
Among the array of inventions will be one from His Excellency Sheikh Ali Bin Salman Bin Jabor Al Thani who developed a ‘Smart Life Jacket.’ The jacket has an in-built GPS that will aid in locating a user in case he is lost at sea. The feature is able to pinpoint the location of the user, as reported by The Peninsula.
Another invention part of the Exhibition is by Ali Hassan Al Rashid, who invented a ‘Mobile Security Robot’ that is able to identify criminals through facial recognition. The robot’s ultraviolet rays have the power to detect the presence of explosive devices in addition to recognizing forged documents and money.
Another noteworthy invention that comes from Qatar is a safety system created by Saleh Said Safran. Dubbed as ‘Samam,’ the system can identify LNG and CPG leakages. It can inform the user of any such leakage via a mobile app that also allows control of the LPG connection source.
