Founded in 2013, Qatari label Harlienz is all set to hit the February ’19 New York Fashion Week runway; making it the first brand from Qatar to be officially 'on schedule'.

Coming from an accounting background, Harlienz founder and creative force Haya Al Adsani, established the label from her desire to use apparels as a visual outlet for her travel inspirations. As a self-taught designer, Haya’s vision and refreshing aesthetic for Harlienz speedily garnered the attention of fashion conscious individuals, consequently establishing the label as one of Qatar’s leading global contemporary fashion brands.

Haya’s designs - worn by an international portfolio of well-heeled clienteles – is consistent with its offerings of breezy staples and versatile pieces that evoke the FarEastern minimalistic ideologies.

Minimal, easy-to-wear styles are at the core of the New York Fashion Week 25-piece line up, which is all about chic, essential silhouettes. Precise cuts, and graphic lines take their inspiration from the clean architectural lines found within the streets of Korea. And combined with neutral tones and high-quality fabrications, the Harlienz FW19 collection on the runway is set to convey a very polished look.

Developed as a wardrobe of modern must-have items, it included fluid overlays that can be easily coordinated to be dressed up for an evening look or a more relaxed, on-the-go approach.

This FW19 fashion season is also pitted as a big one for group shows - a smart way for up-and-coming talent to showcase their labels within a stronger light. And as such Harlienz is proudly collaborating on the runway with a Qatari fine jewellery brand Ghada Albuainain. Stemmed from the fact that the two designers are best friends, this collaboration will most certainly increase their reach and have a progressive influence on each other’s brands.

Renowned for urban, peerless jewellery featuring unconventional materials, Ghada Albuainain designs are inspired by 'the beauty of everyday objects, and then turning them into tangible pieces.' This collaborative decision is sure to make an impact in the style scene, drawing positive attention to Qatar as a region and its pool of emerging design talents.

A key influence both designers are hoping to emulate from showcasing at NYFW is the fact that even though they come from a conservative culture, where women mostly wear the same thing: the abaya, this one-way perceptive in recent years has been shifting; although slowly, yet surely. As much as both Haya and Ghada are taking risks, they are determined to remain and stay relevant, by evolving the ways women can don this traditional modest wear.

"Given all our activities around the growth of our respective brands, we felt that this was a fantastic moment to go out and be seen on an international platform", said Haya Al Adsani.

"Our brands are well received and have made great strides in the region. Now is time to present it to a wider audience."
