Great news for all the Metro commuters! The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that Doha Metro Red Line South will be open to the public during weekends, starting from Friday, September 27.

Only on this Friday, September 27, the line will be in operation from 2:00 pm to 3:00 am.

From Saturday, September 28, the line will be operational throughout the week (Saturday to Thursday) from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, and on Fridays from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

I hope 24 hours of operation becomes a reality at some point. Me and many others included would easily switch over to using the Metro (+ Metrolink/Taxi) once it's dependable at any given time of day. City driving is quite a "task".
