Hello, how are you all? Hope you all are doing fine.

From the title you already known what i am going to ask but still let me ask again "How can someone find a job in Qatar?

I am in Qatar for past few months and searching for a job since then. I apply online in all the companies i can find revelant to my field and even personally drop my resume in some companies but never got any response so far.

And that kept me in thinking am i doing something wrong? What should i do now? I am wasting my time and resources here? Should i go back to India? and so on but in the last this came to my mind "Qatar Living" in the hope that i might find someone who can help or guide me in any way possible. Any help any leads and even any struggle stories of yours might help me get going

And thanks in advance for reading this long annoying post :D

@acchabaccha, mafia in saudi Arabia to prevent muslims' recruitment? That send shrills down my spine. Could you share more about this? Is that with the permission of the government? As far as I know, Saudi intelligence is the most superior in all muslim work. So considering the government is aware of this, how could they allow such covert activities of any mafia ? I know such mafia(s) are very active in all the countries including Pakistan & UAE where they control the market/business places, exhibit extreme discrimination in hiring under qualified, funny looking/sounding, smelly Indians (in all honesty, my statement is based on personal experience in teo countries. By no means am I a racist) & rejecting well qualified & experienced professionals to hire but in Saudia too? That's quite scary to be honest. The end times are near :O

You need to have two qualities over and above your qualifications and experience to get employed in Qatar.

First comes nationality and in your case as you are an Indian, the state or province you come from holds much importance. This is because Keralites at HR positions in companies here will hire only people from Kerala. That also applies to people from Hyderabad. So if you are from any of these two places, try to get into touch with people from this area and they will help you out.

The second thing that is of importance, is the right religion. There are companies here where the "right religion" is an important criteria for selection. I have personally faced such situations not just in Qatar but also in S Arabia where they have set up a mafia to prevent Muslims from getting employed. One simple way is by restricting a job vacancy only to Filipinos where one does not need to mention any religion as most Filipinos are Christians.

Sorry, for me, your approach seems right.

If you have a job in India, just stay there.

If you check out the news papers, specifically, Gulf TImes business section, you have over 200 people looking for jobs. Maybe even 600 if we do the maths.

I have had a number of people at office approach saying that

1) they have been working for 2 months 8 months and no salary.

2) Looking for jobs and very low salary.

3) Retrenched in a few months.

Not meaning to discourage you. You may be a lucky one and get an excellent placement.

All the best, this is just my take.
