Air India Express to begin direct flights between Doha and Tiruchirappalli

Indian budget airline, Air India Express is all set to start direct flights between Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, and Doha, Qatar.

The service, which will commence on March 31, 2020, will be offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays of every week, according to the airline’s website.

According to the information on the website, the flight (IX 673) from Hamad International Airport (HIA) is scheduled to take off at 4.40 am and land in Tiruchirappalli at 11.55 am (local time), while the flight (IX 674) from Tiruchirappalli will depart at 1.30 am (local time) and land in Doha at 3.40 am.

This is the first direct flight from Qatar to Tiruchirappalli, according to The Peninsula.

Bookings are already underway on the airline’s website.

Earlier, this week, Gulf Times reported that another low-cost airline, GoAir, will start direct flights between Mumbai and Doha, effective March 19, 2020.
