QL Exclusive: An interview with Qatar-based blogger, and businesswoman, Rola Rizq

Qatar Living speaks to the Qatar-based blogger and the founder of Elegant Agency, Rola Rizq, to learn more about her success story.

Rola is a Jordanian entrepreneur. She was born and raised in Qatar. Now she is a mother of two children.

She has experience in public relations and media and has worked with Qatar broadcasting, Qatar TV, and Al Jazeera.

Rola also happened to be the head of coordination between all media stations coverage of the event -The World Wrestling Competition- in 2015. This is when she started her own company.

A number of things in her life stimulated her interest in being an entrepreneur. “What sparked my interest…things that touch my heart and soul, and whatever that I know and personally used,” Rola said.

She started blogging on social media, with different topics that interested her such as abaya fashion, skin care, and her family.

“I would blog about products and services that could be useful to my followers. I loved to share my experience and talk about it personally as a means to enhance my self-confidence,” Rola mentioned.

Rola is also the founder of Elegant Agency, which focuses on the management of celebrities’ accounts, marketing and media promotion through social networking platforms.

“We have organized more than 700 events, conferences and gatherings at the highest levels of professionalism and efficiency, which reflects business and financial returns to our customers,” she said.

“The company also designs and organizes the visual identity of events for conferences, companies, institutions, fashion shops, beauty salons, car exhibitions and many others,” she added.

Rola’s real inspiration was her late father, and she still gets her power and strength from remembering him.

During her entrepreneurship journey, Rola faced many challenges that she says have taught her important lessons.

Rola believes that each person is unique and should stick with their own character. They should not pay attention to what people say “because it has no end,” she noted.

She says it’s okay to try new things.

“With my blogging, I want to show my feelings to my followers. This includes my love of trying new high-quality products that I recommend after using them. It is ok to try new things,” she said.

“My message to everyone who sees my content, is to always be yourself, even if people are against what you do. Keeping your truthfulness and dignity in media coverage is significant,” she said.

Rola embraces the uniqueness of Qatar in her work, and her company -Elegant Agency- reflects Qatar’s identity.

“Elegant Agency is a Qatari Company, so all our behavior and work reflects Qatar’s identity, ethics and culture,” she added.

COVID-19 had a very positive impact on Rola, she says. This period gave her more time to implement  new ideas for her company.

Also, she mentioned that she got really close to her family.

She used this hard period to benefit herself and her followers, by giving advice on her social media accounts and sharing her family issues.

She also focused on how to use the time for different activities during quarantine.

Just like everyone set new year resolutions, Rola did too.

She said she is planning to achieve many things this year.

“I will try to stand up and show up our creativity and love to media and PR, since we do have a high competition in the market, we maintain fair competition and workflow, and we are trying to stay very distinguished at work than other,” she said.

Rola concluded by advising the new generation of entrepreneurs and bloggers to stand out with their own creative content and to try to avoid repetition of other bloggers.

“You should produce new content. Always stay up to date. In addition, you should always keep neutral in important topics,” she ended.
