Christmas and New Year in Doha

Good afternoon all, I am here for Christmas and the New Year and was wondering whether anyone could provide some suggestions as to what events are planned over this period? I would love to go with a few friends to a party type evening function on New Year, somewhere we could bring in the bells and celebrate with music and some champaygne. For Christmas a nice dinner preferably? Or perhaps something completely diffrent. This time last year I spent it in the desert with friends around a camp fire. Thanks in advance.
