JOB SPECIFICATION – SENIOR PIPING / MECHANICAL ENGINEER Roles and Responsibilities • Carry out Piping and Mechanical Engineering activities for Feasibility Studies, FEED and EPIC Projects for Onshore and Offshore, Oil and Gas production and upstream / downstream processing, Petrochemical, Chemical, Refinery, Safety and Environmental Projects. • Review and provide input to FEED Scope of Services and EPIC Scope of Work documents. • Prepare / review Piping discipline deliverables and supervise Engineering and EPIC contractors’ works for all modifications and engineering activities, including development of Plot Plan, Piping GA, Pipe Support GA, Line Schedule, Valve Schedule, Tie-in Schedule, Design Basis, Piping Stress Analysis, Pipe Support design including Special Pipe Supports, Material Selection and Sour Service requirements, development of Piping Class Specifications, Data Sheets (Pipes, Fittings, Valves, Piping Specials, Special Pipe Supports). Ensure compliance to HSE standards and international codes/standards. Review and approve technical documents. • Prepare / review Equipment deliverables, including Data Sheets, Specifications and Material Requisitions for Static, Rotating and Lifting Equipment such as Pumps, Compressors, Mixers, Manual and Electric Chain Pulley Blocks, EOT Cranes, etc, and Packaged Equipment. • Perform Technical review and evaluation of Vendor submissions; Technical Bid Evaluation. • Interface with engineering team and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure project requirements are complied with. • Participate in P&ID and Design Reviews, 3D Model Reviews, Constructability Reviews, Risk Assessment Studies and PHAs (Process Hazard Analysis) like HAZID, HAZOP, etc. • Review technical content of Non-Conformance Requests (NCRs), warranty claims, and concession requests received from Engineering and EPIC contractors and vendors, and provide recommendations. • Provide support to commissioning, testing and start-up activities. • Provide technical leadership, and ensure Clients’ Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) requirements are complied with. • Provide pre-bid engineering support for Proposals.
Desired Skills & Experience
Requirements – Experience and Skills • Knowledge and experience in Piping related to Oil and Gas, Refinery and Petrochemical facilities, and Infrastructure. • Experience in Onshore and Offshore projects. • Knowledge of Piping related standards • Working knowledge in the use of Piping Stress Analysis software packages such as CAESAR-II. • Proficiency in the use of MS-Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). • Background in multi-disciplinary facility design with project management experience. • Proficiency in International Codes like API, ANSI/ASME, ASTM, ISO, NACE, MSS, TEMA. Familiarity with health and safety regulations. • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor of Science / Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Formal training in Piping Stress Analysis. • 10-15 years relevant experience, including 6 years in major projects.
