tere jaate hi is kharaabe se
shor-e-giryah hazaar uThta hai

kaun hai jis ko jaaN azeez nahiN
le tiraa jaaN nicaar uThta hai

saf.ba.saf aa khaRe hue haiN ghazaal
dasht se khaaksaar uThta hai

hai ye teshaa ke aik sho'laa sa
bar.sar-e-kohsaar uThta hai

karb-e-tanhaai voh shae hai ke Khudaa
aadmi ko pukaar uThta hai

too ne phir kasb-e-zar ka zikr kia
kahiN ham se ye baar uThta hai

lo voh majboor-e-shehr seHra se
aaj deevaana vaar uThta hai

apne haaN to zamaane vaaloN ka
roz hi ai'tibaar uThtaa hai

Jaun uThta hai ' yooN kaho' yaa'ni
