Pakistan forums hail Jinnah’s role
QAID-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah's role in the independence movement was highlighted at a programme organised by Pakistan Culture Forum (PCF) to mark his 132nd birth anniversary.
Jinnah, who was born on December 25, 1876 is revered as the father of the Pakistani nation.
Pakistan Muslim Welfare League (PMWL) president Tahir Mahmood Chaudhari presided over the function while Faisal Malik was the special guest.
PCF president Rashid Niaz announced forum's plans to induct young talents in socio-literary activities for the common benefit of the community and particularly the young generation.
General secretary Furqan Ahmad Paracha and Pak Shama School Urdu teacher Shafiq Akhtar read out papers on the life and character of Jinnah.
They highlighted his determined and undeterred stance and role in the independence movement.
Idara-e-Khayal-o-Fun president Mohammed Mumtaz Raashed, Shaiqeen-e-Fun president Shaukat Ali Naz, PCF literary secretary Fahim Syed and press secretary Ijaz Haider recited their poems dedicated to Jinnah.
Pak Youth Society president Qazi Mohammed Asghar, Chaudhari and Malik also spoke underscoring the significance of the day. PCF cultural secretary Iftkhar-ul-Haq compered while chief co-ordinator Tahir Ahmed Tanweer proposed a vote of thanks.
PCF programme in-charge Inam-ur-Rahim Rahi, Pakistan Writers Council chairman Mohammed Ashraf Siddiqi, and Pakistan Social Welfare Council chief organiser Ajmal Chaudhari also attended
