Did you know you can now renew your license through Metrash 2?
Ever found yourself severely short of time, just at the right moment when your driving license is getting expired? No need to tear your hair out in frustration if you have the Ministry of Interior’s Metrash 2 application installed on your mobile phone.
According to a tweet from the MoI, driving licences can now be renewed through Metrash 2.
While the renewal fee of QR250 can be paid online, the applicant’s licence can be delivered to his/her doorstep (by Q-Post) for the additional payment of QR20.
Motorists can apply for a new licence to replace damaged ones by using the same procedures on Metrash 2. The ministry has also added three important visa-related services to its online platform, allowing residents to avail of them without visiting a services centre of the ministry.
Expatriates seeking a ‘return visa’ for people under personal sponsorship who have stayed out of the country for more than six months can also apply through Metrash 2 or the ministry’s website.
Passport details of a foreigner can be modified online if the person holds a valid entry visa to Qatar and his passport has been lost or damaged.
In case of expatriates holding two visas — one existing and another new— it is possible to close one and open the other online using Metrash 2 or the ministry’s e-services, after paying service charges.
I have renewed my wife driving license on 9th June 2018 through Metrash 2. Till today i have not received the driving license i have checked in local Q Post in Al Khor and in GPO in Doha.
