I have taken twice 32" LCD to chennai. Then second time I was rally planning to take 42" but I found that the package was exceeding the size limit of 158 CM on total (The dimension of each piece of checked baggage should not exceed 158 cm (total dimension = length + height + width). Please note that at any cost any airlines will not accept single baggage heavier than 32kg (70lbs)

So go to the shop select the model your prefer, then ask them to show the package. check the dimensions and weight of the pack. If it is less than 31 KG & 158 CM, go ahead for it. or less start running out from that place without even turning back.

Suggestion: LCD TV is always less KG than Plasma. More over Plasma is glass material and bound for breaking on mis-handling. so choose LCD, this is will solve your purpose.

Warning: You might have to pay duty 25% in Indian airport for your baggage's, if the value on total is more than 25,000 INR.

Happy Journey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI,

I have taken 37" LCD Sony without any problem. It can be taken as a part of your laguage. As far as I remember the maximum size is allowed 40". 42" for sure not allowed.
