you can convert your Bahrain driving license to Qatari driving license without waiting your ID to be issued. just go to Qatar Traffic Department, pass through eye test and fill the application form. don't forget to take some poloroid photos with you. but they will issue you a temporary driving license which will expire within the same date as your visa expires. when you get the RP (resident permit), you can change your temporary driving license with the permanent one.
you can drive for 1 week but later on when u get your ID you can convert it your bahrain driving license to qatar driving license...
