Performing Umrah with a Saudi Transit Visa
Assalamu Alaikum
On our way to Jordan by road, we would like to stop in Makkah for Umrah. We will not have a Umrah visa, but we will have a transit visa.
I have been told so many different stories, but basically most people have said that you "officially" can't go to Makkah on a transit visa, but in the majority of cases the police at the checkpoints will let you through as it is actually a very common practice.
I would be interested in knowing other peoples' experiences with this. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Will getting both a transit visa and a Umrah visa solve the problem? I don't mind paying for both if it will give me peace of mind.
Thanks for your comments in advance.
