Which is the best beach in Goa, India?

I am planning a trip to Goa with friends and I am not sure which beach to book accomodation for us? Ideally we would like to be very close to good restuarants, shopping and nightlife however we DO NOT want to be next to it because noise and traffic. Perfection would be a quiet beach front hut to rest in the day and have good night sleep, and more importantly safe being one of few female travellers. We don't want to travel too far for nightlight (again safety reasons) but again we do not want to be hearing rave music all night either. Finally, prefer a more maturer place rather than young student raving bagpackers.
Anyone suggest a beach? Big dilemma!

Well...believe me, you...Little Baga, Vagator & Anjuna is where you'd love 2 Be. They are Safe...but please take Decent Accommodation. Regards!

Good guess to visit paradise on earth,From Dabolim International Airport directly go to Anjuna,,these is the centre of all the famous beaches,,You will also get many hotels there,,But try to get any rented flats that will be cheaper than hotel,,you will get many renting flats there,,May be only Rs.3000 to Qr.4000 for 1 or 2 weeks..depends on your holiday plan..Enjoy your trip..
goa has nice beach, but kerala is best place to visit, good beach, amazing wild life in wyanad,hillstations like munnar,tekkady trecking all in small state.just google it
Canacona beach and Hotel intercontinental will be good.
but expensive..
