how is this going to support the WC bid? Fifa have been and gone, just remember last years game, dead atmosphere, a joke of a fanzone and players not giving it 100%.

here here WK, me and hubby are going and taking our 2 boys with us, I have a feeling that it will be a good game as someone mentioned earlier, this is to support Qatar bid for 2022, a poor atmosphere with a 2nd team is not going to do that is it????

fair call WK...can't argue with that!

Won't be a great spectacle but Messi is coming and even if he touches the ball twice, I so want to be there when he does..

I could tell my grand kids, you know I watched the greatest ever footballer playing live..

You may have guessed already that I am a Messi fan :P

not wasting my money this year, friendlys are a joke as a spectacle, players don't give it their all as there is nothing at stake! Will wait till xmas period in the UK to get my football fix, with real football in the EPL.

don't be at home and be expecting narrating stuffs, cos its going to be more than interesting both teams are ancient competetors and don't forget friendly matches are used to justify selection of players, see you there.

this time the purpose of the match is to support the bid of qatar 2022 worldcup, so they are paid alot to play with all their stars and there is a contract . I remember once messi played a friendly game with barcelona against an asian team while he was injured because the contract says that messi will play.

Rooney played for 10 minutes and touched the ball twice!!! As for Kaka - Kaka Who???

The match was a complete and utter JOKE!!! And wait til you see the players on the field and their performance... If you expect anything more than mediocre, you are in for a big dissapointment!

By anonymous• 10 Nov 2010 21:23

messi wont come for sure. even its a match organized by qatar govt. So its just fun for them. And i dont think Josep Guardiola will allow messi to play

ha ha ha this is ridiculous i don't think a 50 percent of the people noted above will be present. This is a friendly match and these people is busy with there club matches. Most probably it will be a 2nd team performing. Don't try to see stars on sky in the sunlight. There is no chance to have a full team here in Qatar.

but things will be different when argentina takes on brazil...its like an india-pak cricket match..;) i do hope ronaldinho ,messi, tavez etc..will give their best because they are aware of the expectations of the crowd...even in the england x brazil match last year, the only 2 top playes that we had; rooney and kaka tried to play to their full potential.

Too right!

People look at the team list and go 'wow! Bayern, Inter, Real....Man Utd, AC Milan, Barcelona...should be epic'.

All those teams are in Europe.

Sorry to say that no player is going to give 110% and risk injury in a meaningless game in Qatar.

Friendly matches do nothing for a spectical as was witnessed last year Eng v Bra...worst game of football I've seen, in a dead atmosphere of a crowd....can't see this been any different as Qatar authorities never learn a thing from their mistakes..

Just wondering if it's gonna be the same crap we had last year when England played against Brazil. They could have saved us the cash and themselves the embarassment. Never in my life did I see football like that!!!

the egypt vs australia match will be far more interesting.

By reysaj• 10 Nov 2010 19:51

i do hope i can watch it.

By anonymous• 10 Nov 2010 19:50

It's really not.

There is nothing at stake for either side, and players these days don't have the pride or ferocity about friendlies anymore, especially midseason ones in a non-world cup season.

Sorry.
