Hello,

Does anyone know of a place that teaches lapunti? Or a teacher? I did a few months of lessons here in Germany and will be moving to Qatar soon and would like to continue if possible.

My friend Kendo Saggyknackers a blackbelt who joined the army.

The first time he saluted, he killed himself :O(

I am Filipino actually but was the only Filipino at the dojo where I took lessons! The teacher is American, also teaching taekwondo, and all the other students were German.

I am not a brother though but a sister... It was a women's defence school I was at. I think I have seen the modern arnis you are talking about on youtube, it looks really hardcore. I am interested to know a bit more anyway though. I will PM you, thanks.

Thanks for the responses. What is the Falcon Centre? I found a Falcon Taekwondo Academy on the internet. Is that it?

Where I took lessons they called it Lapunti Arnis De Abanico. As far as I know it is a certain style of arnis from Cebu and the footwork is based on kung fu with a lot of cross legging and twisting.

Nice to know that someone from that side of the earth is practicing the arnis- filipino martial art...sad to say that i do not know anyone who is practicing the lapunti style here...what we are practicing here is the modern arnis and doce pares which are both as deadly as the lapunti style...you can PM me for more details brother. See you in Doha soon.
