Sailing in Doha?
I am new to Doha, and had hoped to be able and buy a mid-sized Catamaran (38'-42') to perpare, sail, and exit on when I leave Qatar. My web searches show that this is not going to happen, as there appears to be nothing like this for sale in the entire region. I was out on one of the Colgate26's the other weekend and thought I saw a Raider 30 (a 30' Grainger Cat out of Australia). Does anyone know who owns this Cat, as I would like to see it for general interest, and are there any other similar sized Cats in Doha, or surrounding area?
There is a sailing school attached to the Intercon - they might be able to point you in the right direction.
For the benefit of SamyaUK. I am not sure what was confusing, other then maybe the term Cat which is just an abbreviation for Catamaran (a twin hull sailboat), versus a Monohull (a single hull sailboat). Hope this clears up the confusion.
Sailing other than dinghy sailing, does not seem to be that popular yet.
