As Jams said in his post the tickets are already sold out to big Corporates and Companies who would have gifted them to their clients and senior staff. The Tennis Federation has already made their money and they cannot sell more tickets as it will create chaos. The guys who were entered without tickets are someone well known to the Organizers and they are instructed to vacate the seats if someone claim those seats with genuine tickets. The guys who got the tickets might or might not go as they got the tickets free and many of them does not want to go due to colder weather. They are not interested to offer their tickets some interested spectators also.

one explanation is that, most of the tickets are bought by corporate companies or given free to some organization, in which later gave them for free to their clients, who may not really interested to watch the matches. So since they are free tickets + it is freezing cold outside + you can watch it live on JSC, most of the these free ticket holders would rather stay at home than watch it at the stadium.

I also can't get tickets for semis and final, I was told by the ticket lady it was sold out on the 2nd day after they started selling. I hope to see no empty seats during that day, otherwise I would think my assumption above would be very much accurate.

yes absolutely, they were bringing in people who were without tickets, i know for a fact cause i was seated just at the aisle & saw these co-ordinators bringing in these people who were made to sit in the lower seats & after some time spectators who had tickets for those seats asked these guys to move. a lot of that was happening. a lot of the school kids too, in uniforms. i really dont think u need to fill up seats that way. there r a lot of people willing to pay good money for those very same seats. the sporting federation should look into these things if they want to b taken seriously as a sporting destination. a lot of empty seats isnt good for business if u know what i mean.

The management of the Exxon Mobil Qatar Open should have assigned group of Staff to monitor and evaluate people's attendance in the court. If they see lot of empty seats, they should allow eager spectators to enter, at least.

It is shame that most people wait at the queue and did not allow to enter while still seats are available.

This has been happening eversince WTA Championship. I have a lot of friends last time hoping to have a glimpse of those lovely players instead all tickets has been sold out, according to them. But Alas, all I see is 50% occupancy. Most of the seats were taken by noisy kids in uniform. It's alway been like that. They never learn. Tonight I'll take a photo of the empty seats.
