Salaries generally here now belong to two classes. The have's and the have-nots. There is little in-between.
Until each country begins to set its minimum acceptable wage + allowances, employers here will continue to take advantage of the rise in rents etc., and the expats will take it or leave it. There is not usually a lot of bargaining done. Someone somewhere will take the job for a pittance of a salary.
