Qatar Institute for the Propogation of Islam or better known as QCPI has their building down in the Souk area... the circular zigurat thing. They are v. good, and you'll get a good basic arabic set of studies for free. They don't have any major teaching skills usually, but they are nice folks and if like me you're not Muslim, don't be put off by the threating sound of their title. They really are friendly, and the language lesson doesn't come with a pressured version of conversion. Its more to do with learning to speak and learning about the culture at the same time.
Usually they offer beginners/mid/advanced classes for language. And whilst I was at one of the later sessions not so long ago, they also offered Classical Arabic as opposed to Qatar Dialects.
Hope this helps.
