Make up your mind to let him know that 'romance' is neccessary in your life, otherwise he'll go 'bush' and stay that way. One day when you complain that he's not romantic enough, he'll say "well you never said anything when we first got together"...and it will be your fault.

MAKE IT PLAIN... that all big arrangements - as well as the little ones - need romantic ingredients if he wants to have a nice response from you. That's the way women are made. Washing dirty sox and undies may not entail romance, but engagement rings certainly do!
Believe me, you'll both be better off for learning this lesson early.
