There are loads of reasons why those particular dogs are on the banned breed list. The biggest reasons are to control dog fighting and also as a public security issue. Many people here have them as status symbols as there supposed to be "big scary dogs" and some actively train them to be aggressive. An untrained dog that size could cause major problems so the simplest way for the government to try and stop these problems is to ban them. The UK has banned breeds as well it's just that Qatar's banned breeds list is slightly more extended!! But they are constantly reviewing the list and making changes to it, so hopefully the situation may change!
