Also, rents are sky high, hope this is part of package, average rent can be from $4000/ month in West Bay area for 3/4 bedroom house. Very very difficult to avoid the bad traffic. House across the road from the american school, it can still take 20/30 mins to drive to school because of traffic system and snarl-ups. There are school buses available at cost.
As to your wife and working, there are jobs here, not that many for expats as salaries are higher than using some other nationalities. Do your homework before you come unless you are coming with a major multinational company.
