I have lived in UAE for more than 12 years and an year back only shifted to Doha, Qatar. Of all the 7 emirates, in terms of house rents, Abu Dhabi is considered to be the most expensive but Al Ain being less populated, the price you pay for a two bedroom ordinary flat, you may get a 3 bedroom villa in Al Ain.That too, due to recession effect, the prices are expected to be slashed.
The schools are also easy to get admission due to the same reason of less populated area. A quite place but you will get easy access to all basic amenities, like shops, taxi stands. Even the taxi fare is comparatively less than other Emirates esp Dubai. Hope this information was useful to you. If I come across some more significant info, will definitely post it or will PM you.
