As far as i know, invitation letter is no longer a requirements now. But if your employer can provide it for you then good enough. Important is you must have a visa sticker on your passport done by Qatar embassy through DHL which is more convinient.

One thing is that you have to make sure that you have a confirmed return ticket for you not to be hold on check in counter.
