Hi there - one of my children was tested at one clinic in Australia and apart from mild long-sightedness (she wears glasses) nothing else was picked up. Then I went to another eye clinic on recommendation of a friend and they picked up a whole host of deficits in visual processing skills. We are now doing vision therapy to address those issues - very interesting exercises and seem to have made a difference with regard to the fluency of her reading. My sister who is a teacher in Australia also said that one of the teachers in her school was very excited about a little girl (Y2) who had dyslexia but was undergoing this vision therapy training and whose reading had just taken off. Might be worth checking that out to see if it's on offer there.
