it depends on your aims. for understanding the whole grammar and be able to talk in the streets and for a basic understanding of what you've read you will need a whole year with 2 - 3 hours daily along with a lot of exercises at home.

if you are a beginner i would suggest that you join the arabic classes in fanar building close to corniche. they have four levels. these levels will be enough for you as a beginner.
