This is not an easy task. I have been working on my visa for 8 months now. There is considerable misinformation and because of the language barrier a lot of difficulty getting a straight answer. To make matters worse the visa requirements are changing May 1st 2010 and I haven’t been able to get those verified.
At this moment I am on a visitor’s visa, which lasts for 30 days renewable for an additional 30 days. After 60 days I have to fly to Bahrain or Abu Dhabi then get back on an airplane and come straight back so I can buy another 60 days.
There is no problem for a wife (teacher) to sponsor her husband but you have the added complication of your husband’s citizenship. Starting on May 1st you can no longer buy a visitor visa on arrival in Doha. That means he will have to have a visa before he leaves Canada and I’m not sure if that will have to come from the Qatar/Canadian or Qatar/Honduran embassy.
Sadly the school has no one with the necessary expertise to help you. When/if I get more information I will let you know. In the meantime you should try to find out which embassy can issue a visitor’s visa.
